Ladies and gents, I am writing to you on the sheer power of the three very resilient brain cells that survived this year’s Fan Expo. First off, let me congratulate the event organizers, who listened to last year’s attendee feedback and improved the overcrowding situation greatly. We didn’t attend last year, for the first time in about a decade, but we hear it was a pretty bad scene. This year was fine, so I’d say they did a great job addressing the problems. Other than a minor scheduling mishap, everything seemed to run quite smoothly!
It was an odd show for us. There was never a huge crowd in front of our table, as we’ve seen in the past (one FanEx staff member explained that this was due to better space management), but Dale signed more comics than ever, and his sketch list for the whole week-end was booked within about 90 minutes of our arrival. It was crazy-busy… but never all at once. Very odd!
Boy, were Alpha Flight fans ever in for a treat this week-end! The energy around our table was palpable all week-end, first with trepidation and anticipation, and then with exhilaration once it was announced that the book had been upgraded to an ongoing. Fans came by just to thank Dale and Fred (who had a table next to us) and to shake their hand. Smiles abounded, and it was a great sight to see. Take the legendary Stan Lee, one of the biggest names in comic book history.
Throw in a story about the Fantastic Four, the Watcher, the Silver Surfer and the mighty Galactus... a story that has a decidedly twisted ending...
Add the penciling prowess of Dale Eaglesham (I'd flatter him more, but it may appear unseemly), who grew up reading Lee/Kirby comics and has an unwavering respect for them.
The bonus? The show-stopping colors of one of the best colorists in the biz, Laura Martin, not to mention the editorial savvy of our old friend, editor Justin Gabrie.
And what have you got? A project that the whole team will cherish for ever. We hope you will too.

Hi friends!
If you're on Facebook and haven't yet "liked" our page, no big deal, right? You check our website once in a while, maybe you even follow Dale's Tweets... What could you be missing?
Well, maybe some inside scoops exclusive to our Facebook Fan Page? Maybe scans of actual cartoon (not comics!) work Dale has done for my work in the past? Maybe riveting conversations with other fans? Maybe the opportunity to share your favorite Dale art (from comics or commissions) in the photo album? Maybe an extra entry in our contest for a free Eaglesham sketch? Click "read more" for a preview of what you may be missing!

Things were looking grim for a while there last week... It had been raining for what seemed like weeks, and there was no sign that it would stop in time for our annual Comics for Charity (C4C) event. Our event is part of an outdoor arts festival, and it's just not the same when we need to move to the arena due to rain!
But our prospects brightened at the last minute and not a drop of rain fell all week-end! In fact, it was beautiful and warm on Saturday, and everyone enjoyed walking around in our beautiful town, dubbed the Gingerbread Capital of Ontario (gingerbread architecture, not cookies!).

Folks, we're MERE HOURS away from revealing Dale's awesome next project. But why wait hours, when you can find out now, before everyone else? Dale will be doing a three-issue arc that is basically tailor-made for him, and he's drawn the covers for it as well. I've taken his first cover and cut it up into little pieces. Print it out, cut up the pieces*, and put together the puzzle. When you're done, post your assembled work on our Facebook page! Who will be the first person to do so?? That person will get an extra FIVE entries in our contest!! And if he or she can also name the characters and setting, that's an extra entry. Click "read more" to see the full-size image. UPDATE: EASIER VERSION INCLUDED!

Halloween has always been my favorite day of the year. I’ve always loved the creative aspect of it, and of course the dressing up part! But for exactly half of my life now, Halloween has been doubly special. Right around this time 21 years ago today, I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of my date, a shy guy called Dale Eaglesham. We’d been talking on the phone for a couple of months, and I really liked him. We’d both gone to the same art school in Montréal, we both liked the Habs, we both liked the group Yes… I knew his brother (and assorted posse) from art school and the whole goofy bunch of us got along great. Now if only I could get this reclusive artist to actually meet me in person! I knew he was a comic book artist, but I must admit I don’t remember whether I was impressed with that or not. With so many artist friends, I guess he just fit into my quirky world.
